formal celebration of Mother's Day, as currently conceived, had its origin. report that in 1905, the American teenager, Ana Jarvis, from Philadelphia, decided to write to individuals to ask for support in its project to celebrate Mother's Day on the anniversary of the death of his mother, the second Sunday of May.
In 1910, almost all states of the United States, mimicked the initiative of the young Jarvis. however, it was not until 1914, when our neighbors to the north, legally proclaimed "Mother's Day" national holiday, it rigorously held every second Sunday of May.
Subsequently, additional countries were added to the celebration. and now, the celebrations in honor of mothers are given in almost every country in the world.
However, not all countries celebrate it on the same day. In most European countries is the first Sunday of May. In Latin American countries, the date varies. In Chile and Argentina, will go with the flow of the second Sunday of May.
