anti-aging Food
For many, skin look soft, smooth and beautiful is very important. In addition to face creams, body and beauty treatments that there are several currently on the market, we can achieve this goal tending our food. Making a food or other can affect the level of oxidation in our bodies and therefore influence the state of our skin.
Oxidation is a totally natural process that occurs in our body to perform everyday activities such as walking, breathing, eating, among others. This oxidation is generated by the formation of free radicals. These cells are incomplete, as explained by the dietitian-nutritionist Marta González Caballero "are missing electrons and seeking to stabilize damage as a result, other healthy cells, destabilizing, and converting also free radicals.
feeding, the best defense
The direct consequence of the effect of these free radicals and thus the oxidation is that there is a cellular aging, ie it generates an erosion of the organs and skin. Therefore some care must be taken with excessive oxidation since, as the expert warns, it "increases the risk of degenerative diseases such as cancer or dementia. "
Our body is very wise and has its own defenses against this process. To neutralize, generates daily antioxidant enzymes. However, "if there is excessive free radicals our body is unable to neutralize all", explained the specialist. The best solution then is to use certain nutrients that act as antioxidants and can be found in many foods we have at our fingertips.
The best antioxidant eat everything
are many vitamins and nutrients that fight the aging of our cells. The expert describes the most important to us, "like vitamins C and E, minerals such as selenium, copper or zinc and phytochemicals as beta-carotene or pro-vitamin A, flavonoids and isoflavones. "Each one of them can be found in any food: vegetables, fruits, fish, oils, etc.
really can not say that a single the best antioxidant food is possible. The key is to eat all your diet to keep your body balanced and far from free radicals. The resource list detailing where we can see which foods contain vitamins and elements mentioned:
• Vitamin C:

According to Wikipedia:
"An antioxidant is a molecule able to delay or prevent oxidation of other molecules. Oxidation is a chemical reaction of electron transfer of a substance to an oxidizing agent . Oxidation reactions can produce free radicals Starting chain reactions that damage cells . Antioxidants terminate these reactions by removing free radical intermediates and inhibit other oxidation reactions oxidized themselves. Because of this is that antioxidants are often reducing agents such as thiols or polyphenols. Although oxidation reactions are crucial for life, can also be harmful, so plants and animals maintain complex systems of multiple types of antioxidants such as glutathione, vitamin C, vitamin E and enzymes such as catalase, superoxide dismutase and various peroxidases. Low levels of antioxidants or inhibition of antioxidant enzymes causes oxidative stress and can damage or kill cells. Oxidative stress has been associated with the pathogenesis of many human diseases, which is why the use of antioxidants in pharmacology is intensively studied, particularly as a treatment for stroke and neurodegenerative diseases. However, it is unknown whether oxidative stress is the cause or the consequence of such diseases. Antioxidants are also widely used as ingredients in dietary supplements the hope of maintaining health and preventing diseases such as cancer and heart disease. Although some studies have suggested that antioxidant supplements have health benefits, other large clinical trials did not detect any benefit for the formulations tested, and excess supplementation can be harmful. Besides these applications in medicine, antioxidants have many industrial applications, such as preservatives in foods and cosmetics and preventing the degradation of rubber and gasoline.

to prevent brain cancer ...
Not that I have "gone the pot" ... I have not been all day near the computer, so I could not post in due time ... but as the saying goes ... "Better late than never" ... especially for those interested to know that both tea and coffee, say researchers from the Department of Health Univewrsidad Brown, Providence, USA, are able to reduce the risk of brain cancer for those regular users I guess I do not abuse the amount ... Can coffee and tea reduce the risk of brain cancer?
Researchers have found that regular consumption of coffee and tea may protect against a form of brain cancer.
In fact, recent research suggests that drinking just half a cup of coffee a day may reduce the risk of brain cancer by up to 34%.
Lead researcher Dominique S. Michaud, department of community health at Brown University in Providence, heads an international team reported their findings in the November issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
The idea that coffee and tea may provide anticancer benefits to regular drinkers is based on previous research that has shown that these drinks can also reduce the risk of both Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.
The current initiative explored the possibility that coffee and tea may also protect against brain cancer, notably in the form of glioma, a cancer of the central nervous system that originates in the brain and / or spinal cord.
For this purpose, took the data on the eating habits of more than 410,000 men and women aged between 25 and 70, taken from the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition, which included people from France, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Great Britain, Greece, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Germany.
Participants were recruited between 1991 and 2000 and were followed for about 8.5 years. During that time, dietary surveys were conducted to evaluate, among other things, the amount of tea and coffee consumed by each participant.
consumption patterns contrast with the incidence of brain cancer, the research team observed consumption of at least 100ml (or 0.4 cups) a day reduced the risk of gliomas by 34%.
As noted by the authors, the protective effect appears to be slightly stronger among men and seems to apply only to gliomas.
However, the mechanism by which coffee may offer this protection is completely unknown, so the researchers said further studies are needed to confirm these findings and determine the origin of the correlation.

The benefits of green tea ... Debt
A cup of green tea may ward off bacteria.
Beneficial effects of green tea have been known for millennia, especially in Asian cultures. An ancient Chinese proverb says: "Better to be deprived of food for three days to a day of tea. "A cup of green tea contains up to 200mg. of catechins, whose biological activity has been attributed mainly to its antioxidant activity.
The effectiveness of green tea extract on hygiene mouth has been known for centuries and this was what provided the key to the investigators that could be implicated in the antibacterial activity.
According to an article published on January 16, 2007 at ScienceDaily.com, researchers at the National Chemistry Ljubljana, Slovenia have discovered that the main ingredients of green tea may perform other feats: thus, For example, catechins inhibit bacterial DNA gyrase enzyme, the target of several existing clinically used drugs.
espectropía Using MRI, researchers have pointed Slovenian ATP binding site of DNA gyrase as target of EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate ) , most abundant catechin in green tea extract. So far, several compounds known to target the ATP binding site of DNA gyrase, but they could not be used as drugs due to side effects on mammalian cells.
Lead researcher Jerald Roman, director of Biotechnology Laboratory of the National Institute of Chemistry, Ljubljana, explains: "We hope to avoid the problem of toxicity using the compounds based on green tea catechins, which for centuries have proven safe for human diet."
This discovery, published recently in the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, can be used to develop more potent antibacterial compounds.

At last! ... say many.
We were "Sobraos" excess saturated ... food ... drinks ... late nights ... (But take away what bailao!) And like all good things, it also "takes its toll" ...
Now is the time to "connect the dots", pass us by the weight, wonder and set the "Action Plan" to compensate for more sooner than later, the consequences of all this mass of nonsense ...
What other choice? ... Speak the weight: We have "mounted" on 73.1 ... frankly, I expected more ... between us, I am within the "tolerable band" of between 70 and 75 ... I do not want to risk more, because I'm closer to 75 than the 70 ... bad thing.
Conclusion: to "disappear" the leftovers of nougat, marzipan, shortbread, polvorones, almonds and pine nuts, dried apricots, sandwich cookies, cakes, pasta, nougat and other "products" Christmas in our environment .. . and replace this absence with "comidita healthy" and a good sense of "proportion" ... there is no alternative ... We, as would the other ... "There is no more tu'tía" ...
And as habits are concerned, nothing beats a good "cup of tea green with all its properties so beneficial for everyone ...

... Summary
What are antioxidants?
are some substances found in certain foods that protect against free radicals that cause aging processes and some other diseases.
What are free radicals?
molecules are "unbalanced" with atoms having an electron with a great capacity to mate, so they are very reactive. These radicals roam our body trying to capture an electron from the stable molecules in order to achieve stability and electrochemical potential chain reactions that will be destructive of our cells.
Antioxidants and free radicals.
Antioxidants retard the aging process by combating the degeneration and death of cells caused by free radicals. The inability of our body to neutralize free radicals we are exposed every day requires us to use foods with antioxidant properties capable of neutralizing them.
Antioxidants and cancer.
Many studies emphasize carry adequate diets with foods that are active allies against cancer. These diets are based on enzymes and substances antioxidants in certain foods that are rich in components that collect in the two images ... the top and bottom. The mechanisms are diverse, ranging from inhibition to an active reaction of the immune system in general.
